External Affairs interacts with the media, the insurance community and Alabama consumers to communicate the priorities of the Department, as well as ways the Department can help them.
We reach the public through traditional media, social media and outreach events to educate Alabamians about their insurance.
We also host an annual internship program aimed at helping college students get their first real-world experience in insurance regulation.
Additionally, we participate in career fairs across Alabama to recruit professionals from all backgrounds to state service.
