New chat helps consumers get quick answers to insurance questions

A new online chat from the Alabama Department of Insurance gives consumers another avenue for getting their questions answered quickly.


Representatives are now available at to help with common insurance-related questions. The chat box is located at the bottom right corner of the page.


Staff can assist with inquiries regarding life and health as well as property and casualty insurance issues. Insurance agents with questions are also welcome to participate.


The chat is staffed Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. After hours, users can leave a message and a staff member will get back to them the next business day.
