Investigators have determined the fires that destroyed the Bethlehem Baptist Church and damaged the Providence Methodist Church Tuesday night in Elmore County were both cases of arson.
Investigators with the Elmore County Sheriff's Office, the Wetumpka Police Department and the State Fire Marshals Office worked throughout the night and Wednesday before identifying the causes of the fires.
Investigators are working numerous leads to identify the responsible parties. Anyone having seen anything Tuesday night which may relate to either fire or who has other information regarding these fires is asked to call the Arson Hotline 1-800-654-0775.
