Two church fires in Elmore County Tuesday night are currently under investigation by the Elmore County Sheriff's Office and the State Fire Marshals Office.
The first fire, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1685 Bethlehem Road, Equality, was reported at 9:27 PM. Firefighters report the building was well involved when they arrived on the scene. The building and contents were a total loss.
The second fire, at Providence Methodist Church located on Providence Road in Titus, was reported at 10:22 PM. Responding firefighters were able to confine the fire to the rear of the structure, which sustained major damage.
At the present time the cause of both fires is under investigation.
