Acting Commissioner D. David Parsons announced today the appointment of Jimmy W. Gunn as Insurance Registration Manager of the Agents Licensing Division. The appointment is effective immediately.

Mr. Gunn obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Auburn University in 1969. While at Auburn, Mr. Gunn was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.

Mr. Gunn has been employed with the Alabama Department of Insurance for eleven years. His previous position with the department was a Rate Analyst II with Insurance Division. Prior to working for the Department of Insurance, Mr. Gunn was a marketing representative with Southern Guaranty Insurance Company and Safeco Insurance Companies. He served 27 years in the United States Army Reserve and retired as an E7/Sergeant First Class.
