One adult has been arrested and a second arrest is pending in the April 16th fire at the Dollar General Store.
Jeremy Wayne Odom, age 23, of Parrish, Alabama has been arrested and charged with Arson 2nd Degree following an extensive investigation by the Carbon Hill Police and Fire Departments in conjunction with the State Fire Marshals Office. A second adult will be charged today regarding this fire.
Multiple, additional charges are anticipated to be filed against both subjects.
The fire totally destroyed the strip shopping center located on Highway 78 in Carbon Hill. Destroyed in the fire was the Dollar General Store, Norris Cleaners, Cash and Carry Auto Parts, Pawn Express, and one vacant business. The fire was reported to the Carbon Hill Fire Department around 1:15 AM, April 16, 1999.
