Through the cooperation of the National Fire Protection Association and the City of Fairfield, the State Fire Marshals Office will host a combined NFPA 1 and 101 school in August. This school will cover the latest editions of both codes.
As always, the course will be without charge to 100 participants from city, county and state fire code enforcement organizations. Sponsoring agencies or their employees will be responsible for their transportation, food, lodging and incidental expenses. Educational materials will be provided without charge to all participants.
The course will be presented by NFPA instructors August 14-18, 2000, and will take place at the Fairfield Civic Center in Fairfield, AL. The exact time for classes to begin and end will be announced when registration opens the latter part of May. Notices will be mailed to various fire code enforcement organizations outlining the details and restrictions. This website message will also be updated to provide the most complete current information at that time.
As always, in an effort to provide as broad a coverage to departments throughout the state, the number of participants per department must be limited. Any department making reservations, but being unable to send their personnel as planned, is asked to notify the State Fire Marshals Office by telephone 334-241-4166, by fax 334-241-4158 or by e-mail at
FireMarshal@insurance.state.al.us prior to Friday August 11th.
