On October 21, Pinson Fire and Police Departments responded to a fire on Woodhaven Boulevard in Pinson which destroyed the home of Eric and Sandra Williams. A subsequent investigation concluded that the fire was intentionally set.  Wednesday, (11/4), Eric Williams, 56,  was arrested and charged with Arson: Second Degree, Theft by Deception: First Degree, and Reckless Endangerment in connection with the fire at his home.  Williams has been placed in the Blount County jail and his bond has been set at $252,500.  Alabama State Fire Marshal Ed Paulk reports, “this investigation continues and more arrests are expected in the case.”  Paulk says his office is being aided in its investigation by the Pinson Police and Fire Departments, the Blount County Sheriff’s Department and the Etowah County Sheriff’s Department.  Anyone who may have information which might be helpful to them may contact any of these agencies or the Alabama Arson Hotline at  1-800-654-0775
