A storage building a Speake High School suffered moderate damage and dozens of textbooks were destroyed in a Thursday night fire at the Lawrence County school, State Fire Marshal Ed Paulk said Friday.
"Initial indications are that there was a malfunctioning wall heater that was the likely source of the fire," Paulk said.
The Alabama State Fire Marshals Office,the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department and the Lawrence County Board of Education are coordinating the investigation.
