A early Sunday morning fire took the life of a houseguest at a Selma residence.
Laura Lyons, 57, died in the blaze at the St. Phillips Street home of Matthew Lyons. The 45-year-old Lyons was seriously injured in the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Alabama State Fire Marshals Office as well as the Selma fire and police departments.
