The fire at the home of former state Rep. and DHR Commissioner Bill Fuller has been deemed to be an accident, the Alabama State Fire Marshals Office announced Monday.

"After a thorough investigation in concert with the Lafayette Fire Department, we have determined that this fire occurred due to faulty electrical wiring in a wall," said Acting State Fire Marshal Richard Montgomery.

Fuller, who is a candidate for Congress, suffered non-life threatening injuries when he jumped from a second floor porch to escape the smoke and flames.
