A 39-year-old Alexander City woman was charged with first-degree arson in connection with a Saturday morning fire that resulted in a rescue of the woman's boyfield.

Janet Tuck was charged with setting fire to the home owned by her boyfriend, who was asleep in bed.  Police officials claim Tuck locked the doors on the way out. An Alexander City police officer broke down the rear door and rescued the boyfriend, who was not seriously hurt.
