An early morning fire destroyed three buildings on Main Street in McKenzie on Monday.
One of the buildings was a hardware store, another was an arcade, while the other was vacant.
"It probably be tomorrow before we can enter the buildings to try to determine a cause for the fire," Acting State Fire Marshal Richard Montgomery said.
The Alabama State Fire Marshals Office is working in conjuction with the Butler County Sheriff's Office in the investigation.
