Two women have been arrested following the investigation of a fire at 6065 Chambers County Road 266 on August 4, 2003.
Janis C. Jones, age 54, of Chambers County, AL and Rebecca Cotton, age 38, of LaGrange, GA have each been charged with arson second degree following an investigation by the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office and the Alabama State Fire Marshals Office. Jones also faces charges of conspiracy to commit arson. Cotton was arrested August 15, 2003, and Jones was arrested today. Cotton has since bonded out of jail, while Jones is currently being held in the Chambers County Jail.
Investigators say Jones arranged to have Cotton burn Jones’ doublewide mobile home.
