One adult died Saturday night during a fire at the their home at 684 U. S. Highway 82 East. Willie Hooks, Jr., age 61, was pronounced dead at the scene. The fire was reported at 6:58 PM.
Investigators with the Union Springs Fire Department and Alabama State Fire Marshals Office say the fire originated in the front room of the one story concrete block home. Mr. Hooks body was found in the room of origin where a kerosene heater was located.
The Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences has scheduled an autopsy of the body.
