A fire at the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church on Highway 259 South near Alexander City destroyed both the new and old buildings belonging to the church.
Investigators with the Alabama State Fire Marshals Office have found no evidence to suggest the fire is anything other than accidental, with the fire apparently originating at the electric oven in the old building.
The fire was discovered by a passing motorist around 4:30 A.M. Sunday October 27th.
