Four Coffee County Juveniles Charged

Four Coffee County juveniles were charged yesterday with attempting to burn the birthplace of Former Governor Big Jim Folsom. Juvenile petitions against the four were signed following an investigation by the Coffee County Sheriff's Office and the Alabama State Fire Marshals Office.

The juveniles attempted to set fire to the home, located on Highway 151 near New Brocton, on January 28, 2002. Charges against the youths include Arson Second Degree. The youths also face additional charges relating to other illegal acts they reportedly committed in Coffee County.

The youth are currently being held in the Juvenile Diversion Center in Dothan, awaiting a hearing August 2nd.
