Two people died Sunday afternoon when fire swept through a mobile home attached to a wood frame dwelling in east Selma.
Brenda Watts age 30 and Anthony Jones age 2, died when fire heavily damaged the mobile home and dwelling at 110 Wilson Street at 5:12 PM. Four other people, reportedly in the house when the fire began, were able to escape.
The fire is currently under investigation by the Selma Fire Department, Selma Police Department and the State Fire Marshals Office. Autopsies, by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, are scheduled today to determine the specific cause of death for both victims.
