An investigation is currently underway in Monroe County regarding an early morning fire, which resulted in one death.
The fire occurred on Second Avenue in Beatrice at the home of Roosevelt McIntosh age 92. Mr. McIntosh was confined to a wheelchair. The fire originated in the master bedroom of his home.
Investigators with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and the Alabama State Fire Marshals Office are awaiting results of an autopsy by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences. The specific cause for the fire remains under investigation.
