Announcement of New Market Conduct Division

Commissioner of Insurance D. David Parsons has announced his selection of Jack M. Brown, CIE to lead the new Market Conduct Division of the Alabama Department of Insurance. Mr. Brown is a graduate of the University of Alabama and Auburn University Montgomery with degrees in accounting and finance. Mr. Brown joined the Alabama Department of Insurance in June 1977. Prior to accepting the position of Assistant Chief Examiner and Field Supervisor in 1994, Jack Brown worked as a field examiner with duties including supervision of multi-state zone examinations. Mr. Brown also worked for two years in the Receivership Division in the liquidation of a domestic property and casualty insurer. Since June 1994, he has supervised the financial field examiners for the Department of Insurance. Prior to joining the Department of Insurance, Mr. Brown worked in the insurance industry and had various duties including working in accounting, claims, and underwriting. His duties in leading the Market Conduct Division will include organizing, implementing, and managing a market conduct function for the Department of Insurance.
