A twenty-eight year old Troy resident was charged Monday afternoon with placing an explosive device, which detonated, inside a dormitory at Troy State University.
John Wesley Hargray of 601 Botts Avenue was charged with one count of Attempted Arson First Degree. The charge stemmed from an incident at Alumni Hall on December 5th, when an explosive device detonated in Wing C of the building. The building was occupied at the time of the incident, however none of the occupants were injured.
The arrest occurred following an investigation by the Troy State University Police, Troy Fire Department and Alabama State Fire Marshals Office. Hargray is currently being held in the Pike County Jail under $25,000 bond.
