Investigators with the Montgomery Fire Department Arson Unit and the Alabama State Fire Marshals Office confirmed this morning that the fire at Coosada Trucking Company was intentionally set.
On the night of November 19th, neighbors reported hearing an explosion at the trucking company located at 3155 Brooks Road in Montgomery. 911 dispatchers with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Montgomery Fire Department received calls from residents on Brooks Road, reporting an explosion. Responding companies from the Montgomery Fire Department found the maintenance building at the trucking company well involved with fire when they arrived.
Since the fire, investigators have determined the maintenance building and a storage building were burglarized prior to the fire being set in the maintenance building. Property was also stolen prior to the fire.
The Alabama Arson Prevention Task Force has authorized a reward for information leading to the arrest and indictment of those responsible for the burglaries, theft and arson. Anyone with information should call 1-800-654-0775. Callers may remain anonymous.
