The System for Electronic Rate and Form Filing (SERFF) is now operational for Life, Annuity and Health filings in Alabama. SERFF is designed to improve the efficiency of the rate and form filing and approval processes and to reduce the time and cost involved in making regulatory filings. SERFF is a joint, cooperative initiative between insurers and regulators. All filings are done electronically via the internet. Alabama is proud to be included as one of the initial states now accepting live filings for the above products and will continue to be in the forefront as the industry responds to and adopts new and innovative changes in the marketplace.
