State Forester Timothy C. Boyce issued a Fire Alert for Baldwin and Mobile Counties effective 7:00A.M. May 18, 2001, to continue until lifted by the State Forester.
"As approved by law, burning permits for the designated counties will be issued only at my [State Forester Timothy C. Boyce] discretion as long as this Fire Alert shall continue in effect."
The use of fireworks for personal use or public fireworks displays is discouraged at this time by the State Fire Marshals Office. Further updates regarding the use of fireworks in these and other counties, where Fire Alerts are issued, will occur as needed to provide the latest possible information to the public and local authorities.
