A fire Friday morning at the Hollins Springs Baptist Church resulted in the loss of the church and contents.
The fire, at 7388 Goodwater Highway in Hollins, was reported at 12:10 AM today. An investigation by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and the State Fire Marshals Office revealed the fire originated in the pastor’s office. The fire resulted when an electrical extension cord was installed improperly.
