Martha McHale of 2320 Tahita Lane in Alabaster died Tuesday morning during a fire at her home.
The fire originated in the living room/den as the result of a liquefied petroleum gas heater being turned over. The heater, designed for outside use only, was connected to a twenty-pound gas cylinder and was being used to provide additional heat in the home. Mrs. McHale was found in a second floor bath room.
The fire and death are under investigation by the Alabaster Fire and Police Departments, the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences and the State Fire Marshals Office.
