Local and state investigators are currently working to determine the cause of a Monday night fire in Tarrant.
Tarrant Fire Department responded to #6 First Street at 4:50 PM where they discovered one person inside a burning residence. Firefighters removed the person from the house, but were unsuccessful in their attempts to revive the victim.
The victim has been identified as 88 year old Oytt Conway Breland. The fire was confined to the living room of the home.
An autopsy is to be performed by the Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office, while investigators from the Tarrant Police and Fire Departments, along with the State Fire Marshals Office, continue their investigation of the fire.
