The Alabama Department of Insurance announces the appointment of Nicole Marshall as Director of Operations for the Department’s Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) Compliance Division. 
 
Marshall brings 14 years of experience in pharmacy benefit management, client services, contract compliance, and prescription drug benefit administration, including state government health plans. In her new role with the Alabama Department of Insurance, she will oversee the PBM Compliance Division’s day-to-day operations, including licensure administration, contracts, regulatory reporting, and coordination with vendors and internal Department resources.
 
“We are pleased to welcome Nicole Marshall to the Alabama Department of Insurance,” said Insurance Commissioner Mark Fowler. “Her extensive knowledge of working in pharmacy benefit management platforms, combined with her commitment to public service, will be a valuable asset as the Department continues to strengthen its oversight of PBMs. Her addition reflects our commitment to building a well-rounded, experienced team focused on effective regulation and protecting Alabama consumers.”

The Alabama Department of Insurance’s PBM Compliance Division is responsible for licensing, examining, monitoring, and enforcing Alabama laws governing Pharmacy Benefit Managers operating within the state.
