One Macon County resident died Saturday morning when fire destroyed his singlewide mobile home.
Eddie “Shorty” Wright, approximately 60 years of age, died around 12:48 AM in a fire at his home located on County Road 48 in the Franklin Community. The fire was discovered by a passing motorist who reported it to authorities. It is unknown at this time if any smoke alarms were present in the home.
The specific cause of the fire and death are currently under investigation by local authorities and the State Fire Marshals Office.
