A 3 year-old child was killed and his mother seriously injured Thursday evening when fire heavily damaged their mobile home. The mother sustained life-threatening injuries and is currently undergoing treatment.
The fire at 7803 Success Court in St. Elmo was reported at 7:42 PM. At the present time the fire appears to be accidental having originated on a bed in the home.
An investigation by the Mobile County Sheriffs Office and the State Fire Marshals Office is continuing.
