Commissioner Jim Ridling is celebrating 10 years as the head of
the Alabama Department of Insurance.
First appointed by Gov. Bob Riley, Ridling joined the department
on September 15, 2008. Ridling is Alabama’s longest-serving Commissioner of
Insurance and the longest-serving appointed Insurance Commissioner in the
nation.
A native of Arkansas and former CEO of Southern Guaranty
Insurance, he has lived, worked and served in Montgomery since 1987.
