Update: August 9, 2018 The Alabama Department of Insurance has withdrawn our application to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for a revision to the EHB benchmark plan for 2020. There will be no changes to the Alabama EHB benchmark plan at this time.

In order to reduce premiums and address the opioid crisis, Alabama is proposing a revision to our EHB- benchmark plan for PY 2020. The Department does not see the need at this time to adjust any of the other 9 categories from the current Alabama benchmark plan. To review a copy of the proposed drug list comparison, click here.
We are soliciting comments through August 3, 2018. Comments should be submitted to the following mailbox ehbpubliccomment@insurance.alabama.gov with the subject “EHB Benchmark Plan Revisions”.
