Effective October 1, 2018, the Alabama Department of Insurance has mandated the use of OPTins (Online Premium Tax for Insurance) for insurance companies & brokers filing and paying Premium Tax or Surplus Lines.

Effective January 3, 2020, The Alabama Department of Insurance has mandated the use of OPTins (Online Premium Tax for Insurance) for insurance companies filing and paying the Annual Fraud Assessment Fee due June 1st.

Effective January 1, 2023, The Commissioner of Insurance hereby sets the following Annual Insurance Fraud Unit Assessment Fee to $240, per Alabama Insurance Regulation Chapter 482-1-160.04.
